Hello! My name is Allison, also known as @allisonelang on instagram. I'm Canadian born, based in Montréal, QC but I may be currently exploring a different city.
I have an obsessive passion for travel and photography that continues to expand each time I meet new people, explore new places, and experience new cultures.
My love for photography became highly evident at a very young age when I would steal my parent’s disposable cameras and fill them with complete nonsense. Since, that nonsense has developed into a passion for capturing true, raw, candid moments.
I studied photography at MacEwan University, where I acquired my photography diploma and design certificate. This is where I fell in love with lifestyle, travel, and documentary photography.
My interest for travel became undeniable at the age of 16, when I began travelling internationally with my volleyball team. We competed in England, Brazil, and throughout the United States.
This inspired me to keep exploring the world. So far, I have travelled 29 countries, 5 continents, and an endless list of cities.
My goal is 30 countries before I'm 30, and then only adding to that list for the remainder of my life.
Feel free to follow my adventure!

How many languages do you speak?
I speak two: English and French (typical Canadian).
What language would you most like to learn?
I would love to be able to speak Spanish, so many people around the world speak the language!
Update: I have been trying to teach myself Spanish by using Duolingo, then I travelled Central and South America recently and mixed it up with my French ALL THE TIME.
What's your favourite thing about travelling?
My favourite thing about travelling would be meeting new people. I love learning about who people are, where they come from, and how they developed into who they are today. Everyone has an interesting story.
What's your favourite country?
This is a hard question to answer because I love different countries for different reasons, but if I had to choose... I'd say Morocco. The people, the language, the food, the culture, the landscapes; I can't even begin to express how beautiful the country is. Definitely left a piece of my heart in Morocco.
What's on your travel playlist?
Anything Kygo! Tropical House is my go to for road trips or short train rides, always gets me pumped up. Otherwise, my music consists of singer-songwriter folk music.
What countries have you travelled?
Austria, Belgium, Belize, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Costa Rica, Croatia, Cuba, Czech Republic, England, El Salvador, France, Germany, Guatemala, Hungary, Iceland, Indonesia, Italy, Mexico, Morocco, Netherlands, Nicaragua, Panama, Portugal, Spain, Thailand, United States of America, and Vatican City.
Hotel or hostel?
Hostel, hands down! I prefer hostels so I can meet new people from all over the world. Especially if you're travelling alone, then you'll have others to do things with. The friendships I've made with people I met in hostels have be unreal, we still talk and plan on visiting each other in the future.
Check out the list of hostels I’ve stayed!
What are your future travel plans?
I find my travel plans are continuously changing! However,
The next big adventure I'm considering is backpacking through South America and then hopefully working in Colombia for six months to a year to teach English. I've dreamt of working abroad for as long as I can remember, to fully immerse myself in a new country. Who knows, maybe I won't want to come home.
What is your party trick?
I can take my leg off.
(I'm a left leg below knee amputee)
